A not-for-profit home care facility with hundreds of employees and multiple locations had a problem: Its staff had to enter their time manually. The facility engaged Tailored Technologies to assist in reengineering this process in the interest of improving efficiency and as a prelude to implementing an automated system. We helped map data flow and selected software to streamline the process of documenting employees’ time. The main benefit was better accuracy, which decreased the interaction required among the staff, managers and the accounting department over discrepancies. It also had a significant impact in reducing costly overtime. The results of the project greatly enhanced the overall productivity of the organization’s operations and reduced costs.
